DANBURY, Conn., November 25, 2003 — Praxair, Inc. (NYSE:PX) today announced that it will debut its Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) remote monitoring system at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting in Chicago. The new service from Praxair Cryomag Services is active 24 hours a day, seven days a week and allows for monitoring of key material levels, verification of proper temperature ranges and confirms the proper operation of fundamental components. For mobile MRI systems, Praxair Cryomag Services’ remote monitoring also includes global positioning satellite (GPS) tracking to coordinate transfilling logistics. The total service greatly reduces the number of emergency calls and saves customers money by avoiding costly system downtime.
“From our offices we have the ability to monitor each customer’s system,’ said Jack Quinn, general manager Praxair Cryomag Services. “If an alarm is triggered we notify the customer of the incident for their immediate attention. If service is required, a Praxair Cryomag Services technician is dispatched for cryogen transfill or contracted magnet services. The goal is to keep the customer’s MRI systems up and running.”
Customers can also access a secure website with password protection for their account to review service history and track trends. This service helps identify abnormalities in cryogen consumption and magnet operation so that corrective and/or preventative action can be taken. Praxair Cryomag Services will be offering demonstrations during the RSNA at Chicago’s McCormick Place in exhibit #8362.
