(Archived) Praxair Included in Dow Jones Sustainability Index
DANBURY, Conn., September 8, 2003 — Praxair, Inc. (NYSE:PX) has been selected as an index component for the 2003 Dow Jones Sustainability World Index. Praxair joins 300 other companies from 22 countries that are included in the index because of their industry leadership in terms of corporate sustainability.
The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index was launched in 1999 as the first equity benchmark to track the financial performance of leading corporations which are committed to sustainability on a global scale. Corporations are selected for the index after a thorough assessment of economic, environmental and social criteria with a major focus on long-term shareholder value creation.
