(Archived) Praxair Canada Announces Nitrogen Capacity Additions in Alberta
DANBURY, Conn., March 19, 2004 — Praxair Canada Inc., a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc. (NYSE:PX), plans to add 300 tons per day of liquid nitrogen capacity at its facility in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The company previously announced an addition of 650 tons per day of capacity at Prentiss and Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
"This capacity addition is required to meet the projected requirements of our contracted customers who are responding to the current surge in demand for natural gas," said said Rob Hossack, managing director of Praxair Canada. "The overall demand for nitrogen to service oil and gas wells in Western Canada is expected to double over the next two to three years."
