DANBURY, Conn., August 16, 2004 — Praxair, Inc. (NYSE:PX) subsidiaries Praxair Distribution, Inc., in the U.S., and Praxair Canada Inc., in Canada, announced today that they will increase prices between 10 and 15 percent for acetylene. These prices become effective on August 16, 2004, or as supply agreements permit.
Pricing has been revised due to rising costs of raw materials, fuel and transportation.
