(Archived) Praxair's AMKO Services Adds Additional Pneumatic Retesting Capabilities
DANBURY, Conn., June 14, 2004 — AMKO Service Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Praxair, Inc., (NYSE: PX) announced today that it is now offering pneumatic retesting of carbon dioxide trailers at its Adelanto, California facility. In addition to the Adelanto facility, pneumatic retesting of carbon dioxide trailers is performed at AMKO's Gnadenhutten, Ohio facility. The pneumatic test when compared to standard hydrostatic testing reduces testing time by approximately 25% and eliminates introduction of water into the vessel that may contribute to contamination, oxidation and additional dry out time.
The pneumatic retesting process can be used on trailer equipment used to transport liquid industrial gas products including carbon dioxide, ammonia, liquid natural gas, argon, nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen. "AMKO is pleased to be able to extend our pneumatic retesting service to additional AMKO sites. Customers will benefit from AMKO’s many years of experience performing pneumatic trailer testing.” said AMKO President Mike Sinicropi. "All AMKO locations are registered with the US Department of Transportation and Transport Canada as qualified retest facilities."
