(Archived) Praxair Services' Leak Detection Technology For Above-Ground Storage Tanks Receives New Listing From NWGLDE

DANBURY, Conn., November 2, 2005 — Praxair Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc. (NYSE: PX), has received a new listing by the National Work Group on Leak Detection Evaluations (NWGLDE) for its leading-edge Tracer Tight® leak detection technology used to test above-ground storage tanks (ASTs). This listing is important because it provides the regulatory community, as well as AST owners and operators, with an increased measure of confidence in this specific technology and in Praxair Services as an industry supplier. Praxair Services' Tracer Tight service is the only leak detection technology for ASTs currently listed on the Work Group's website.

In addition to Praxair Services' listing for AST leak detection technology, its Tracer Tight technology is also widely used for underground storage tanks (USTs) and associated piping. It has been listed by the NWGLDE for these applications since 1995.

"This most recent listing is specific to detection of active soil-side releases from the floors of above-ground storage tanks, where leak detection is accomplished with no significant disruption to tank operations," said Bill Stoll, president of Praxair Services.

The NWGLDE is an independent Work Group presently comprised of ten members who are state or federal employees responsible for the regulation of storage tanks throughout the United States. Their mission is to review third-party evaluations of leak detection systems and list only the systems that meet evaluation requirements contained in accepted protocols, while also meeting Environmental Protection Agency and/or other applicable regulatory standards. All listings can be reviewed at www.nwglde.org.
