(Archived) Praxair Services Offers Robotic Inspection Services For Above-Ground Storage Tanks

DANBURY, Conn., April 6, 2005 — Praxair Services, a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc. (NYSE: PX), has purchased assets and technology of InTANK®, a robotic inspection service for above-ground storage tanks. These assets and technology allow Praxair Services to offer inspection services which utilize a mechanical robot that is able to determine the integrity of a storage tank without costly downtime and release of harmful emissions associated with taking a tank out of service.

The ability to provide this service, combined with Praxair Services' existing portfolio of in-service leak detection and corrosion control services, strengthens the business's overall service offerings for refineries, utilities, chemical and power plants, and pipeline terminals.

"Owners and operators of above-ground storage tanks want to minimize operational disruption as well as stay compliant with tank-integrity requirements. Praxair Services' total customer solutions package, which includes a complete API 653 tank inspection, delivers on both," said Bill Stoll, president of Praxair Services.

Praxair Services provides a range of specialized services such as nitrogen pumping, leak detection, inspection, corrosion control and hydrotesting to refinery, pipeline and storage tank industries across North America.

Praxair is the largest industrial gases company in North and South America, and one of the largest worldwide, with 2004 sales of $6.6 billion.
