(Archived) Praxair Issues $400 Million of Ten-Year Bonds
DANBURY, Conn., October 30, 2006 — Praxair, Inc. (NYSE: PX) today priced $400 million of ten-year bonds maturing November 1, 2016 at a coupon interest rate of 5.375% and a price of 99.817%. The offering was led by Citigroup, Banc of America Securities LLC and Credit Suisse. Co-managers are Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc., HSBC Securities (USA) Inc., JPMorgan Securities, Inc., Merrill Lynch, Pierce Fenner & Smith Inc. and Santander Investment Securities, Inc.
"The attractive Treasury curve, tight spreads and investor enthusiasm were compelling," said Michael J. Allan, Praxair's vice president and treasurer.
The offering is expected to close on November 2, 2006. The company expects to use the proceeds of the offering to repay the $250 million aggregate principal amount of our 6.9% Notes due November 1, 2006 and for general corporate purposes, which may include the refinancing of existing indebtedness. The company's long-term debt is rated A2 by Moody's Investors Service and A by Standard and Poor's Corporation.
