(Archived) Praxair Selected for Dow Jones Sustainability Index
DANBURY, Conn., September 11, 2006 — For the fourth consecutive year, Praxair, Inc. (NYSE: PX) has been selected as a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index. This puts Praxair among the top 10 percent of the world's largest 2,500 companies that are included in the index because of their industry leadership in corporate sustainability.
The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index was launched in 1999 as the first equity benchmark to track the performance of leading corporations that are committed to sustainability on a global scale. Corporations are selected for the index after a thorough assessment of economic, environmental and social criteria with a major focus on long-term shareholder-value creation.
