(Archived) Praxair Names Krut to New Sustainability Post
DANBURY, Conn., February 27, 2008 — Praxair, Inc. (NYSE:PX) has named Riva Krut to the new position of director of sustainability. As the chair of Praxair’s Sustainability Council, Krut will work with functions across the business to identify priorities and set corporate sustainability goals, targets and action plans. She will monitor global trends to identify business opportunities as well as business partners and other stakeholder groups with whom Praxair can engage to further its sustainability mission.
Krut brings 25 years of experience as a sustainability and environmental management consultant to several leading multinational companies. Most recently, she was a vice president with Cameron-Cole LLC, a provider of environmental engineering and consulting, for six years. In 2006 she served as chair of the American Chemistry Council’s Strategic Review Board which reviewed the organization’s Responsible Care Management System. Krut holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of London, U.K., and a bachelor’s degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
