(Archived) Praxair Elects Telesz Senior Vice President
DANBURY, Conn., April 27, 2010 — The Board of Directors of Praxair, Inc. (NYSE: PX) has elected Scott E. Telesz to the position of corporate senior vice president and a member of the executive leadership team. He is responsible for Praxair’s gases business in Europe, Praxair Surface Technologies, Praxair Healthcare Services and the company’s Global Procurement and Materials Management group.
“Scott brings a strong global business perspective, particularly in emerging economies, and a disciplined, strategic approach to the opportunities and issues that Praxair will face in the coming years,” said Praxair Chairman and CEO Steve Angel.
Telesz joined Praxair from SABIC Innovative Plastics, a major division of Riyadh-based Saudi Basic Industries Corporation, a global manufacturer of chemicals, fertilizers, plastics and metals. As vice president, he was responsible for managing its $2.5 billion global resins business. From 1998 to 2007, he held a variety of general management positions with General Electric and played important roles in sourcing, logistics and business development. Before that, Telesz held several positions, including engagement manager, in the U.S. and Australia with McKinsey & Company. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Duke University and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.
