(Archived) Praxair Starts Up Supply to Thyssenkrupp in Alabama

DANBURY, Conn., May 10, 2011 — Praxair, Inc. (NYSE: PX) has started up a new air separation unit to supply industrial gases to ThyssenKrupp’s state-of-the-art carbon and stainless steel processing facilities in Mobile, Alabama. The new air separation unit, with a capacity of 400 tons per day, will also generate liquefied industrial gases for the growing merchant customer base in the region.

“Praxair is providing a cost-effective and energy-efficient plant to support ThyssenKrupp's investment in new steel capacity in the southeastern United States,” said Kevin Foti, vice president, East Region, for Praxair’s North American Industrial Gases business unit. “This new plant also further strengthens Praxair's strong presence in the lower Alabama and Gulf States region.”
