DANBURY, Conn., March 4, 2013 – Praxair, Inc., (NYSE: PX), today announced it will highlight its newly acquired family of portable cylinder products under the PortaGas™ brand at this year’s Pittcon Conference and Expo in Philadelphia, PA, March 17-21. Pittcon is the premier trade event for laboratory science that provides attendees with a first-hand look at the latest innovations in instrumentation and equipment from leading companies from over 30 countries. Praxair offers a wide variety of high purity instrument and process gases and liquid cryogens. Praxair’s high accuracy, traceable gaseous and liquid mixtures are tailored for calibration and analysis in environmental, petrochemical, medical, food, pharmaceutical, biotech and other applications.
Visitors to Praxair booth 3017 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Hall B will see the new returnable and refillable PortaGreen™ and PortaCyl™ transportable cylinders. In addition, Praxair will demonstrate an innovative, patent-pending Strip&Ship™ process for streamlining the return of refillable cylinders. Praxair’s nationwide network provides transportable reactive and non-reactive cylinder gas products delivered on time to customers’ facilities. The transportable cylinders program reduces per-cylinder costs, eliminates rental cylinders and lowers shipping costs.
Also on exhibit is Praxair’s collection of gas handling, distribution and storage equipment to help lab personnel work more safely and productively. Featured equipment will include the StarGen™ ultra-high purity oxygen generator for in-lab production of 99.999+% pure oxygen. Additionally, the Praxair exhibit will compare helium and hydrogen as carrier gases for gas chromatography applications.
